Motives of the Heart Define the Quality of One’s Work
“There is something different if you do things from the heart.” – Bro. Daniel Razon
During weekly thanksgiving celebrations in Ang Dating Daan Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga, Vice Presiding Minister, Bro. Daniel Razon, of the Members Church of God International inserts in between the high level topics delivered to the congregation bits and pieces of the basic Christian survival kit. This way he reminds the brethren of the fundamentals of serving God, one of which is—to do the will of God from the heart.
The following are excerpts of his speech on a regular thanksgiving day held late last year.
“There is something different if you do things from the heart. It will be revealed. If the act comes from the heart, it manifests. That is why the heart of a righteous man is in his right hand. (Ecclesiastes 10:2)
“The right hand symbolizes the work. If you are a righteous man before God, your heart goes with your work. A wise man’s heart is at his right hand. Meaning, your work you do from the heart. If you do something not from the heart, you are called…
“Oh yes, I’m the great pretender; pretending that I’m doing well. My need is such; I pretend too much. I’m lonely but no one can tell.
“You are called a great pretender.
“If you do things not from the heart, there is disguise. The result is that you are doing eye service. Never should the service of a Christian be only for the eyes, only to please men, but to please God; to do His will from a clean heart.
“Our service we will render from the heart. Which heart? A clean heart; not a deceitful heart, not a hypocritical heart, not a pretentious heart. It is very important for a man to be sincere, especially if we talk about serving God, because that is the essence of our work.
“We cannot fool God.
“Can we hide anything from God? The Scriptures says, “The heart is deceitful.” The heart can deceive you. “Who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” (Jeremiah 17:9-10)
“You cannot hide anything from God. You can hide the things in your heart from your fellowmen, from your child, from your wife, from your friend, from your loved ones; but you cannot hide them from God. He knows it, and it will be manifested. It will surely come out.
“And if you can hide it forever here on earth, time will come that it will be revealed. God will reveal that. God knows what’s inside your heart. So it’s really important to do the things for the Lord in the right motive and right intention.”
